INESC TEC researcher invited to edit a “special issue” on IoT in Agriculture

Raul Morais dos Santos, researcher at INESC TEC’s Centre Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS), was invited to be the “Guest Editor” of a “Special Issue” of MDPI “Agriculture” International Journal, which will be published in 2021.

This work, dedicated to the “Internet of Things (IoT) for Precision Agriculture Practices”, aims to improve the sustainable management of ecologically relevant agriculture practices, using the IoT. One of the major goals of this “Special Issue” is to bring together emergent subjects from intelligent agriculture and the latest results of ICT adoption to agricultural practices in the same journal, thus enhancing networking between renowned researchers.

MDPI magazine is one of the major magazines in the field of intelligent agriculture, with an impact factor of 2.07, and a Quartile 2 (Q2) in 2018.

Raul Morais dos Santos holds a PhD in Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), and works as an associate professor at the Engineering Department of the UTAD School of Science and Technology. Regarding his collaboration with INESC TEC, Raul Morais dos Santos focuses on the field of mobile robotics, namely in their application to precision agriculture, as well as the technological areas associated with the integration of data in digital platforms aimed at supporting intelligent agriculture.
