Vestas Wind Systems A/S – Design Centre Lionesa, Model Assistant Lead Engineer

  • Years when you began working at INESC TEC and when you left: 2015-2018
  • Centre(s) at INESC TEC where you worked: Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES)

What have you been doing professionally since you left INESC TEC?

The project I’m currently working on is the first one after leaving INESC TEC.
At the moment, I’m part of the team in charge of developing electrical models for the Vestas Wind Farm. These models monitor the wind farms’ lifecycle and are particularly important to study the interconnection between farms and the electricity grid.
In addition to the technical development, I’m also responsible for the communication and definition of the team’s strategy concerning some of the key international customers, thus ensuring that all models delivered comply with the global market’s requirements.

How did your experience at INESC TEC contributed to your new professional history?

The creative freedom that characterises INESC TEC’s research projects is quite relevant to the promotion of critical and “out of the box” thinking concerning engineering solutions.
INESC TEC’s relation with industry enables the improvement of the expertise necessary to the successful design of industrial solutions.

When you think about INESC TEC, what comes to your mind?

Innovation. Daring.
And I miss all those I’ve worked with.
