Statement about the Projects
It started 12 years ago with my PhD thesis on the assessment of the aesthetic result of breast surgeries with Professor Jaime Cardoso.
The development of an objective assessment software of the aesthetic result of breast surgeries – known as BCCT.core software.
The European project PICTURE, which initiated the attempt of predicting the aesthetic result of breast surgeries and that is now being used in the BCCT.Plan.
The AVA project – semi-automatic detection of abdominal perforator vessels for microsurgical reconstruction.
What are the significant outcomes about these projects that you can highlight?
The establishment of a common language between two teams with such different backgrounds. The constitution of the Breast Research Group.
What is your opinion on your experience working with INESC TEC?
The experience is excellent. We are a real team, one that is not inactive, but one that builds synergies.
What is the possibility of future collaborations with INESC TEC?
More and better collaborations.
We’ve just raised funds for a new project called CINDERELLA.
We always hope that our joint solutions will produce results that make the lives of women with breast cancer much better.
