INESC TEC recycled 212kg of Nespresso pods and donated meals to families in need

Once again, INESC TEC received the Nespresso Professional Recycling Certificate, which declares the recycling of 212kg of Nespresso pods – contributing to a global donation of 1.24 million meals to families supported by the Food Bank. 

With the coffee pods delivered by the institution in 2023, 62.5 tons of rice were donated to families, and 30 tons of animal food were provided to animal support associations.  

The “Reciclar é Alimentar” project, promoted by Nespresso since 2010, allows to reuse the coffee grounds in the rice plantations, integrating them into an agricultural product used in the rice fields, in Alcácer do Sal.  

To contribute to a more sustainable and fairer world, INESC TEC committed to recycle all coffee capsules used at INESC TEC main building, in Braga and Vila Real.
