INESC TEC celebrates the 40th anniversary by planting 40 trees in Porto

As part of the 40th anniversary celebrations, the institution promoted the initiative “40 years, 40 trees,” organised by the Technical Committee for Social Responsibility. The event took place on March 21, which also marked the World Tree Day. 

In collaboration with Porto’s City Hall, this initiative aimed to celebrate four decades of the Institute’s history, but also to reinforce the community’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. 

The planting of these 40 trees was also a meaningful contribution to fight against climate change, considering their capacity for carbon capture and the promotion of biodiversity. 

This initiative welcomed the INESC TEC community and other partners, highlighting the role of science and technological innovation in building a greener future.
