As per tradition, INESC TEC promotes a social campaign every year. This time, the members of the INESC TEC community selected the Porto’s delegation of Centro de Apoio ao Sem Abrigo (CASA) for the donation campaign.
INESC TEC’s Technical Commission for Social Responsibility challenged the community to select the entities they’d like to support during the holiday season. The CASA delegation in Porto was the entity with the highest number of votes.
The Institute promoted a donation campaign at the headquarters and respective hubs, and the members of the INESC TEC community donated blankets, hygiene products, and goods to include in the Christmas baskets delivered to families supported by CASA Porto.
The collected goods were delivered to the representatives of CASA, who attended the INESC TEC Season Party 2022, an internal event that took place on December 15, in Porto.
About CASA Porto
CASA Porto supports the most vulnerable population of the city of Porto and its surroundings since 2008. It relies on a team of approximately 400 volunteers – who, each day, provide support to those in need, with a friendly word, a hot meal, or other crucial actions.
CASA Porto distributes hot meals in Porto and delivers food baskets to families at risk in the cities of Porto, Paredes and Felgueiras. This institution is also responsible for coordinating the Restaurante Solidário, a network of restaurants that serves dinners to those in need, all year round.
