Following an annual tradition, INESC TEC concluded the year of 2023 by supporting a social cause: the members of its community chose the Associação Vida Norte – in Braga, a town that welcomes one of INESC TEC’s hubs – and organised a campaign to collect goods. This association provides support to pregnant women and babies in situations of vulnerability, in the Porto and Braga regions.
A total of 176 products were delivered to the Associação Vida Norte, including hygiene items (109) [baby shower gel, body cream, etc], baby food (40), diapers (21 packages), and baby formula (six units).
In 2023, this association was one of those selected by the members of the INESC TEC community to support on the International Volunteer Day; Vida Norte mentioned that the year was quite atypical, since the donations collected in the previous year’s Christmas campaign (which usually cover needs until September) got short during May.
According to Vida Norte representatives, the “generous donation” by INESC TEC employees made (and will continue to make) a difference in the lives of the families supported by the Braga hub, throughout 2024.
