INESC TEC organised a workshop on the digitalisation of the energy systems

On 21st October, INESC TEC’s Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES) organised a workshop on the digitalisation of the energy systems.

The workshop entitled «Digitalisation of the Energy Systems: Gaps, Goals, and Reality», which was held in the Amphitheatre of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), aimed at promoting the discussions around the footprints of Industry and Research on the digitalisation of future energy systems which is among the trending issued in the field of energy. The outcomes of the workshop were expected to identify major targets that need to be addressed to bridge the gap between the theory and reality of digitalisation.

This initiative is part of the activities in the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) joint programme on Smart Grids that gathered senior researchers, project managers, industry managers and professors to reflect their inputs on this topic. The event was hosted by Nilufar Neyestani (researcher of CPES and representative of the institute in EERA JP SG) and had keynote speakers, including the INESC TEC’s researcher David Rua, from a variety of stakeholders in the digitalisation field, such as EFACEC, EDP Distribuição, Watt-is, Eneida.io, FOSS, SINTEF, AIT, RSE and OFFIS.
