INESC TEC was present at the Mostra Empresarial e Qualifica-te Braga 2026, held on 28 and 29 May at the Altice Forum Braga. Over the two days of the event, the institution showcased the work developed at its University of Minho hub, dedicated to computer science.
The stand served as a stage for the demonstration of several projects and solutions in the areas of web development, ransomware security, high-performance computing (HPC), databases and the Internet of Things (IoT), allowing students, business representatives and visitors to interact directly with the tools developed by INESC TEC.
On the morning of 28 May, the stand received the official visit of the event, comprising the President of the Municipality of Braga, João Rodrigues, several councillors, the Executive Administrator of InvestBraga, Luís Rodrigues, the Director of Economic Development and Investment Attraction at InvestBraga, Gil Carvalho, and other representatives of the local government and business community. The delegation interacted directly with the INESC TEC team, engaging with the demonstrations and projects on display.
On the afternoon of 29 May, INESC TEC took to the stage to participate in the “Pitch — Innovation Centres and R&D Laboratories” session, alongside other research centres and laboratories from the region, in a session dedicated to showcasing their expertise and projects to a diverse audience of students, entrepreneurs and decision-makers.
“This participation allowed us to show, in concrete terms, how the work of INESC TEC translates into solutions with direct application”, says António Luís Sousa, coordinator and researcher at INESC TEC and lecturer at the School of Engineering of the University of Minho. José Orlando Pereira, researcher at INESC TEC and Director of the INESC TEC hub at the University of Minho, highlights that this event made it possible to “bring INESC TEC closer to the business and academic communities in Braga, demonstrating that the research produced can have a direct impact on the region”.
Organised by InvestBraga and the Municipality of Braga, the event brought together companies, R&D institutions, universities and educational institutions from the region, with free entry and a special focus on bridging the gap between the business ecosystem and the professionals of the future.
