Ana Vieira, Communication Manager (Multidisciplinary Institute of Ageing)

What have you been doing professionally since you left INESC TEC?

I am working on the communication of MIA Portugal (Multidisciplinary Institute of Ageing). This is a European project, led by the University of Coimbra, dedicated to research in the biology of ageing, focusing on the biological and molecular mechanisms associated with said process. It is the first centre of its kind in southern Europe.

MIA Portugal has just started its journey, but through the production of science and a multidisciplinary approach, it seeks to generate knowledge to promote a healthier ageing process, focusing on more and better longevity.

How did your experience at INESC TEC contributed to your new professional history?

The work at INESC TEC’s Communication Service (SCOM) was very important to consolidate knowledge in science communication. It was a very enriching experience at that level, and I benefit a lot from it, while performing my tasks at MIA Portugal.

The professionalism and cooperative spirit of the entire team and the demanding environment that characterises SCOM were also crucial.

When you think about INESC TEC, what comes to your mind?

In addition to the projects that I have been involved in, allowing me to improve my professional profile, I have pleasant memories with my SCOM colleagues and other members of the INESC TEC community. I wish them all the best, and a lot of success to INESC TEC.
