Nilufar Neyestani, Senior Researcher (VITO)

What have you been doing professionally since you left INESC TEC?

Since I left INESC TEC, I have joined VITO (Flemish Institute for Technological Research) in Belgium. I am a senior researcher in the Energy Market team.

How did your experience at INESC TEC contributed to your new professional history?

I was part of the Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES), which gave me the opportunity to work on several European projects and get involved with other institutes that are experts in the field. As an expert in the energy field, it is very important to get connected with the proper network to expand your opportunities for new projects. My five-year experience helped me a lot in learning about the players of the field, the rules of the game, while engaging with a broad network of experts.

When you think about INESC TEC, what comes to your mind?

I have a lot of good memories of INESC TEC, the endless nights of working on proposals and the nice lunch breaks, with my colleagues. All in all, it was a great experience to learn about life, beside my profession.
