What have you been doing professionally since you left INESC TEC?

After leaving INESC TEC in October 2021, I embraced a new professional challenge at xGeeks, a relatively new software development company, established in Leiria in 2019 – with most clients located in other countries, like Germany and the U.S.A. I’m currently working on xGeeks’ first project with a Portuguese client, dedicated to Lisbon’s public transportation. This project is technically challenging since it involves the creation of a central system that connects to devices integrated in vehicles.

How did your experience at INESC TEC contributed to your new professional history?

INESC TEC allowed me to work with state-of-the-art software development technologies. During the time there, I enrolled in a Master’s in Software Engineering at FEUP, and I was able to improve practical and theoretical competences. I had the opportunity to be part of a fantastic team, with my co-workers Gonçalo Campos Gonçalves, José Pedro Ornelas, Pedro Ferreira Sousa and Artur Rocha, within the scope of a European project with several research institutes in Europe and Canada. This project helped me improve my knowledge of software development technologies that are quite useful to my current activities.

When you think about INESC TEC, what comes to your mind?

A multicultural and innovative research institution, with a close relationship with the academia and the market. A perfect place for the professional development, that opens new doors.
