The 20th International Entrepreneurship Forum (IEF) Conference, scheduled between September 9 and 11, will take place at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. INESC TEC is one of the promoters of the event; the 2024 edition will explore the theme “Connecting technology, innovation and society: An Entrepreneurial Approach”. Applications are now open.
This initiative focuses on three main themes: technology and sustainable development goals, innovation and social impact, and society and tech innovation. In this sense, this year’s IEF brings together four major entities: INESC TEC, University of Essex, FEUP and Critical Ventures.
Building on the success of last year’s event in Padua (Italy), the conference aims to challenge the current approach to entrepreneurship. Between lectures and debates, the IEF’s proposal is to provide a comprehensive view on how entrepreneurship and innovation can effectively address social questions and promote sustainable results at the individual, organisational and social levels.
Participants are invited to interact with researchers, policy makers and experts, and contribute to practices and discussions that go beyond the mere establishment or growth of companies.
Established in 2001, this conference went to 13 countries in five continents, welcoming close to 100 guest speakers from all over the world and 80 partners (publishers, media, education and research institutions, industry representatives and government agencies). This is the first time this event takes place in Porto, with a renowned group of speakers.
The Conference provides multiple publication initiatives to participants, including opportunities in reputable journals and in the Palgrave Encyclopaedia of Entrepreneurship. Abstracts (up to 500 words) can be submitted via email until July 31.
All those interested can find details on registration, fees and other information on the IEF website.
