22 INESC TEC researchers attended the conference held in Aveiro.
The INESC TEC researcher Catarina Monteiro received the award Best PhD Thesis in Optics and Photonics in Portugal in 2023 at the international conference AOP 2024 – 6th International Conference on Application of Optics and Photonics, which took place at the University of Aveiro, between July 16 and 19. The award was granted by the Portuguese Society of Optics and Photonics (SPOF).
The biennial international AOP conference is organised by SPOF and aims to present developments in the most diverse areas of optics and photonics.
Catarina Monteiro carried out the thesis “Study and development of optical fiber structures based on graphene”, within the scope of the Doctoral Programme in Engineering Physics, under the supervision of Orlando Frazão and Susana Silva, also researchers at INESC TEC.
The conference welcomed 22 INESC TEC researchers, who participated through oral presentations and poster communications in biosensors, optical materials, spectroscopy, quantum imaging and distributed acoustic sensing.
