Ricardo Bessa and João Catalão, both researchers at INESC TEC, were nominated top editors in 2021 by IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy and IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, respectively.
More specifically, they were appointed Outstanding Associate Editors for their performance in the editorial process of scientific papers.
Ricardo Bessa, coordinator of the Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES), is one of six editors nominated worldwide by IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy – a journal with an impact factor of 7.91. João Catalão is one of the five editors in the world selected by IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, which has an impact factor of 6.67. Both journals are classified in Q1 in the fields of energy and electrical engineering.
This honour is also based on the contribution to high quality reviews, the provision of structured and comprehensive comments to the authors, and compliance with the recommended deadlines, as well as the provision of final recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief, thus contributing to the journals’ status.
It’s also important to mention that João Catalão received a Certificate of Service thanks to his collaboration with the IEEE Open Access Journal of Power and Energy as Promotion and Outreach Editor.
The researchers mentioned in this news piece are associated with INESC TEC and UP-FEUP.
