Second edition of the course “Shop floor digitalisation – making digitalisation happen in the Industry” starts in October

Applications are now open for the second edition of the course “Shop floor digitalisation – making digitalisation happen in the Industry”; this event is a partnership between INESC TEC and INEGI, and will take place on October 16. Registrations for this programme – designed to help companies address the challenges of digitalisation – are open until October 13.

Project managers, innovation managers, asset managers, as well as professionals from the manufacturing and service industries wishing to implement digitalisation on the shopfloor, are the main target-audience of the second edition of the course, initially launched in 2024.

Why is shopfloor digitalisation (i.e., the production area of factories) so important? According to Américo Azevedo, researcher at INESC TEC and one of the coordinators of the programme, “the shopfloor plays an extremely relevant role in the efficiency, quality and responsiveness of a factory, translating into greater competitive advantages for companies.”

Towards helping Portuguese companies implement innovation processes (often time-consuming and complex, leading to unnecessary costs and implementation failures), INESC TEC and INEGI are launching this new edition of the course to support and train professionals in selecting the best technologies and understanding the key considerations in managing a digitalisation project.

The programme includes five in-person sessions, running between October 16 and November 13; the information about the training team is available here.

Additional information is also available here and here.
