The first Ordinary Meeting of the General Council of INESC TEC took place on April 14, 2023, with the representatives of the five associated institutions of INESC TEC.
The main goal of the meeting was to analyse the work and results obtained in 2022. The General Council unanimously approved the Activity and Budget Reports, with a very commendable recognition of the results achieved and the excellent work carried out by the INESC TEC community throughout the year.
In addition, the replacement of Aurélio Campilho by Ana Maria Mendonça was ratified, with the latter becoming an effective member of the Scientific Council, representing INESC TEC Centre for Biomedical Engineering Research (C-BER). A proposal for the final composition of the members of the Business Advisory Board (BAB) for the five-year period 2023/2027 was also presented, as well as a proposal for the new structure of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) by the end of the five-year period 2019/2023.

Also noteworthy was the presentation of the institution’s Strategic Plan proposal for the period 2023/2030. The quality of the exercise’s reflection and conceptualisation, as well as the inclusive process behind its design, were praised by the General Council. The next step will be a final work of liaison between the Associates, towards approving the Plan at an extraordinary meeting of the General Council, which will take place in the third quarter of 2023.
