The Smart Manufacturing Summit took place in March and brought together more than 10 000 professionals. INESC TEC presented skills in the area and the “portfolio of services in training and advanced consulting”.
INESC TEC attended the Smart Manufacturing Summit (SMS) in Japan – a three-day event to discuss the main challenges of the Industry of the future. This summit brought together professionals from Industry, Internet of Things technologies, AI, and robotics.
“Participating in the SMS allowed us to better understand the needs and concerns of the Japanese market, as well as to identify potential areas of collaboration, closely related to the theme of sustainability in the industry”, explained António Almeida, from INESC TEC.
INESC TEC travelled at the invitation of the European project ADMANTEX2i, featuring Produtech – one of INESC TEC’s partner in several projects. This “mission” to Japan was crucial to showcase INESC TEC’s “knowledge and expertise domains”, and the “portfolio of services in training and advanced consulting for the industry”.
The Smart Manufacturing Summit took place between March 13 and 15, 2024, in the Aichi Prefecture – the industrial capital of Japan. With an eye on Industry 5.0, the event also focused on the role of industry in the process of redefining the concept of “mobility” and to “consider it not only as the means of transportation, but also as the movement of information, energy, lifelines and other intangible goods”.
This summit, aimed to take “a significant step forward in global cooperation between Europe and Japan”, welcomed more than 10 000 people over the three days.
