First degree and master’s students looking for hands-on research experience and interested in addressing real-world challenges can now apply for INESC TEC’s Summer Research Internships.
The INESC TEC Summer Research Internship programme is back, once again aiming to inspire students to pursue a future career in research. This year, 80 internship topics are available across fields like Bioengineering, Communications, Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Photonics, Power & Energy Systems, and Systems Engineering and Management.
Bridging theory and practice, this initiative offers university students a unique opportunity to explore the world of science and engineering, contribute to solving real problems, and discover how the future is built. In return, participants benefit from four to five weeks of immersion in a leading research institute, along with the possibility of receiving credit for a compulsory undergraduate internship or developing ideas for a future master’s dissertation.
In recent editions, one in three participants was awarded a research grant to continue their work at the Institute. But that’s not all: some of the work carried out by interns has gone beyond INESC TEC, leading to scientific publications, conference presentations, and even job offers.
Applications must be submitted via the INESC TEC website by 19 May. The process is simple: browse the list of internship topics, select up to three, and complete the online application form, indicating your order of preference.
Results will be announced on 2 June, and the internships will begin on 29 June.
