Banco Português de Fomento embraces digital transformation supported by INESC TEC

INESC TEC, under a protocol for the provision of Research and Development (R&D) consulting services, is supporting the conceptualisation of a digital transformation plan for Banco Português de Fomento (BPF). The goal is to improve the quality and efficiency of the institution’s activity, increasing the agility and sustainability of processes.

Supported by INESC TEC significant scientific knowledge in innovation, “this plan will involve the elaboration of a roadmap of activities, which will support the technological and functional restructuring of BPF, ensuring not only the fulfilment of the established strategic vision, but also the design of new, adapted or improved products, processes or services”, explained José Correia, senior researcher and head of the Information Systems and Applied Computing area at INESC TEC.

This action includes the review of BPF’s business architecture, aligning it with the new business trends and challenges, as a National Promotional Bank, and it will translate into transformation projects focusing on the architectural domains of organisation and processes, and IT system.

The project (BankDigitalTransf) will last for 10 months and, in addition to José Correia, it features researchers Henrique São Mamede, José Luis Martins, Susana Oliveira, Jorge Simões and Nuno Flores, from INESC TEC Center for Human-Centered Computing and Information Science (HumanISE).

The researchers mentioned in this news piece are associated with INESC TEC, Universidade Aberta, FEUP, and ISPGaya.
