INESC TEC closes year with multicultural interaction

On 17 December, INESC TEC celebrated once again the end of the year with the “Multicultural Party“, an initiative that brings together the collaborators in order to interact and share a little about their gastronomy.

There were eight nationalities – Portugal, Brazil, Iran, Colombia, Indonesia, France, United Kingdom and South Africa – represented at the event that is already a tradition of INESC TEC and that marks the end of a year of work.

Similarly to the previous editions, INESC TEC’s collaborators were able to attend INESC TEC Jazz Band‘s performance, which opened this interactive and tasting initiative.

Next, it was José Manuel Mendonça’s turn, Chairman of INESC TEC’s Board, to review the 2019’s work year, indicating some of the most outstanding moments of the institute throughout the year.

On the other hand, João Claro, Chief Executive Officer, reflected on the future of the institution by anticipating the challenges for INESC TEC for the next 12 months.

João Claro was also responsible for delivering the awards related to “Limelight”/”The Incredibles”– disclosed in the BIP’s section which praises the work of the collaborators on a monthly basis. Besides this category, there were also two winners related to the “Photo Competition”, which this year was sponsored by the online photography community “Olhares”. The researcher of the Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES), João Paulos, obtained the highest number of votes from the public. João Moreira, a researcher of the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD) was nominated for the best photograph elected by the jury.

The collaborators ranked in first, second and third places in the teambuilding initiative “INESC TEC on the move” also received a gift.
