INESC TEC, through the Centre for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG) and the Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Laboratory (LIAAD), participates in the SIGIPro project, in partnership with the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and the company Expandindustria, SA.
The main objective of the project is the development of a solution for the intelligent management of spatially enabled processes, in order to support companies and government entities dedicated to the management of territory-related processes. The project team will develop an innovative solution for process management, based on three dimensions: an artificial intelligence system powered by machine learning algorithms, which enables the automation of tasks and intelligent assistance to users; an engine for the management of documents and processes, considering workflows, and the interactive geo-visualisation of predictive scenarios of the results/impact of new processes and/or policies.
More specifically, CSIG researchers Lino Oliveira and Artur Capela will be responsible for research and development in the representation of spatiotemporal data, while the members of LIAAD João Vinagre and Ricardo Sousa will explore machine learning methods to recommend actions in procedural management, natural language processing techniques and analytics based on interactive geo-visualisation for decision support.
This R&DT project, launched in April 2021 and ending in 2023, is co-financed by the Incentive System for Research and Technological Development (COMPETE 2020), with a budget of approximately €580K.
