INESC TEC participates in Seminar on Integrated Rural Fire Management

On February 12, José Manuel Mendonça, Chairman of the Board and CEO of INESC TEC, participated in the closing session of the Public Consultation of the National Plan for the Integrated Rural Fire Management.

José Manuel Mendonça, as President of the Board of Directors of the ForestWISE Collaborative Laboratory, participated in the debate on the vision, strategy and goals for the sector and presided the session “Moderating behaviours and managing risk efficiently”.

The session took place at the Santarém Agriculture School, with participation by the Prime Minister, António Costa and the Ministers of Internal Administration, Eduardo Cabrita, Environment and Energy Transition, Matos Fernandes, and Agriculture, Maria do Céu Albuquerque, as well as the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Pedro Silva Pereira.

The four main strategic goals of the aforementioned Plan are valuing the territory, preserving rural spaces, changing behaviours and efficiently managing risks. This Plan will be implemented through the development of regional action programmes, which comprehend the implementation of different priorities, lines of action and projects through time, with pre-established budgets and performance-results indicators.
