INESC TEC part of international Technology Transfer programme

Bruno Santos, from INESC TEC’s Technology Licensing Office (SAL) is one of 11 technology transfer professionals worldwide selected for the international fellowship programme LifeArc – AUTM Technology Transfer Career.

This international programme is promoted by the North American institution Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM). The initiative, starting this month, aims to train and support Life Science graduates in transitioning to a career in Technology Transfer. In addition to training, mentoring and access to a network of contacts, the programme includes a fellowship at a world-renowned Technology Transfer office.

For Bruno Santos (Master’s in Biomedical Engineering), the possibility of improving instrumental skills for tasks at SAL is thrilling, and the institution will benefit from this experience. “Undoubtedly, one of the main advantages will be the increased visibility of INESC TEC as a leader in the field of Knowledge Transfer in Portugal, and the access to a greater network of national and international entities”, he added.

The fellowships programme selects newly graduated scientists and professionals from Europe. Participants can also participate in the largest international conferences on Technology Transfer, such as the AUTM 2022 Annual Conference (New Orleans, U.S.A.), the ASTP 2022 Conference (Lisbon, Portugal) and/or the PraxisAuril 2022 Conference (Brighton, UK).
