INESC TEC researcher nominated iLRN Vice President for Scientific Quality

Leonel Morgado, researcher at INESC TEC’s Centre for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG), was elected Vice President for Scientific Quality of the international network Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN).

ILRN is an international organisation composed of experts in teaching, research and progress of immersive learning, in order to develop the scientific, technical, and applied potential of this field.

As Vice President, Leonel Morgado will be responsible for monitoring the processes and regulations of the Immersive Learning Research Network, focusing on their impact on the scientific quality of the organisation’s activities, while contributing to the development of a global theoretical framework for a scientific model of academic and professional production in the field.

It is important to mention that iLRN organises an annual conference, with the IEEE seal, as well as an annual thematic session at the IEEE TALE conference; both events have great visibility and impact on the global scientific community, focused on research in immersive learning. This vice-presidency encompasses being part of the steering committee of the aforementioned events, and the design of guidelines on procedures, regulations and the selection of members for the organising commissions.

Leonel Morgado started his role after a decision of the iLRN presidency, which nominated him formally on January 21.
