The Advanced Program in Industry 4.0 is back to instruct professionals in digital transformation

The Advanced Program in Industry 4.0, promoted by INEGI and INESC TEC, is back for a second edition. The training actions will take place between May and July this year, following the success of the first edition, which ended in November 2020.

Some of the participants were representatives from different companies, part the national industrial sector, and willing to prepare their professionals to address the challenges of digital transformation, as well as the paradigm of industry 4.0. ADIRA, Casais, COLEP, Efacec, Fluitrónica, OLI and Toyota Caetano were some of the companies that participated in the training sessions.

“The participants’ feedback regarding the first edition was extremely positive. We got a 4.9/5 assessment in parameters such as ‘relevant and useful training’ or ‘good overall quality of the training’, which encourages us keep very high standards”, pointed out Ana Maria Sousa, in charge of the Advanced Training area at INEGI.

According to Luís Belinha Reis, participant from ADIRA, the program provides an “overview of the technologies involved in Industry 4.0”, as well as “a set of management techniques that could be very useful to us”. “Considering the quality of the contents, as well as the excellence of those who teach them, I highly recommend this program to anyone who wishes to improve their knowledge”, he added.

Luís Rosas, from EFACEC, highlighted the “inclusion of on-site visits and the discussion of ideas, with companies that are already at a very high stage of technological development”. According to this professional, the methodology contributed to “demonstrate that this path is feasible and beneficial”, offering “a practical and realistic view of the implementation of concepts that, when discussed in theoretical terms, can be confused with pure science fiction”.

“It’s a well-designed program, with professional, informed and proficient staff. I completed the program with improved knowledge, and with the feeling that it was worth it”, said Carlos Rodrigues, from Toyota Caetano.

The course will enable professionals to lead the implementation of digital transformation

As Technological Interface Centres, INEGI and INESC TEC focus on sharing their experience and knowledge with companies, addressing the various dimensions and issues associated with the current digital transformation, emerging technologies, methodologies and tools, as well as their impact on businesses.

With a duration of 64 hours, the Program will include nine modules focused on themes identified as crucial to the development of a strategic vision, as a way to support decision-making and implementation

The Program will explore key-elements, applications and challenges of technologies that underlie the fourth industrial revolution, and the participants will have the opportunity to visit and participate in workshops at companies identified as good examples, in order to meet their main interests and challenges.
