The pandemic silver linings discussed at the Strategic (Re)Gathering 2021

The pandemic silver linings were the motto for the fifth edition of the Strategic Meeting, INESC TEC’s annual event; this year’s edition took place on October 15, at Quinte de St.º António (Porto).

Close to 180 people – more than 130 in attendance and 45 online – participated in the event, and the members of the INESC TEC community had the opportunity to discuss the benefits of their ability to adapt and overcome, as well as their resilience and imagination, defining opportunities and actions the institution can adopt in future.

João Claro, Chairman of the Executive Board, was responsible for the opening session, highlighting the importance of analysing INESC TEC’s actions during the pandemic, in order to understand what could influence the future of the institution.

Teleworking or hybrid format, social responsibility and borderless reality were the themes of the presentations by Clara Gouveia, Miguel Melo and Daniel Vasconcelos, respectively.

After each presentation, the members of the audience and those watching online had the opportunity to get involved in the discussion, thus promoting the exchange of experiences, ideas, and opinions about the event’s themes.

José Manuel Mendonça, Chairman of INESC TEC’s Board of Directors, closed the event by emphasising that the top branches should listen closely to the employees, while addressing the community’s limitations.

More than a work meeting, the Strategic (Re)Gathering was the first post-pandemic networking and socialising event, with the participation of INESC TEC’s Jazz Band.
