Videos of INESC TEC projects awarded in a competition at a robotics conference

Two videos that INESC TEC submitted to the ROS-Industrial Video Competition – on Cloud Robotics and flexible and scalable automation – produced within the scope of the FASTEN and ScalABLE projects, developed by the Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS), and the Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE), respectively, were nominated to the top 5, selected through popular vote. In addition, the FASTEN video was elected by the contest jury as the winner in the category Cloud Robotics (watch the video here). The announcement took place at the ROS-Industrial Conference 2020, held on December 15 and 16.

“We are very proud of these results, mainly due to the high quality and content of the other videos in the competition. Furthermore, and given the relevance and position of several other institutions and companies that participated in the competition, reaching the top 5 in both categories, and being selected by an international multidisciplinary jury as winners in an emerging science field highlights the work carried out thus far”, stated Rafael Arrais, researcher at CRIIS.

“This acknowledgement is crucial to improve INESC TEC’s visibility, and reinforce the Institute’s position as a top institution in Cloud Robotics”, added the researcher.

The researcher mentioned in this news piece is associated with INESC TEC.
