INESC TEC participates in the QSP Summit 2021 conference

INESC TEC participated in the QSP Summit 2021, the most important Management and Marketing conference in Europe, which took place at Exponor (Porto), on September 9 and 10.

Under the motto Facing the Unknown, this year’s edition brought world-class speakers, who presented and discussed topics of great relevance to the market, at a conference that welcomed 2500 participants and 124 exhibitors, promoting the exchange of knowledge and networking – in areas such as digitisation, capacity building of organisations, industry challenges, etc.

INESC TEC presented solutions to improve the customers’ experience

During the event, the visitors of INESC TEC’s stand were able to learn about solutions aimed at improving the value chain of content production, dissemination, and analysis, as well as optimising the customer experience, based on artificial intelligence, computer vision, virtual reality and augmented reality, among other technologies.

More specifically, INESC TEC provided the following demonstrations: Virtual Shoes application, through which customers can try on shoes virtually, simulating the store experience; an application with detection and facial recognition algorithms, which allows institutions/companies to implement biometric systems; FotoinMotion application , which aims to automatically produce promotional videos and improve the process of creating and disseminating digital content, and finally, an automatic logo detection solution, which enables the analysis of advertising impact on television broadcasts.

Reinforce INESC TEC’s role as a key institutional partner in the Online Market area

The feedback of the team that represented INESC TEC at the QSP Summit – composed of José Nina Andrade, Augustin Olivier and Nuno Campos, business developers at INESC TEC, Mafalda Teles Roxo, senior researcher at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD), and Ana Sequeira, Inês Teixeira, Luís Salgado and Tiago Gonçalves, researchers at the Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM) -, was quite positive.

“INESC TEC’s participation in this event was part of the work that has been carried out to explore economic areas of activity where the Institute has proven competences but is yet to become a national reference. We were able to meet this goal via the many contacts made at the event, as well as the impact of being present at the event, highlighted in the media and social networks”, said José Nina Andrade.

The INESC TEC researchers mentioned in this news piece are associated with U.Maia, FCT and INESC TEC.
